What is an APFC Panel (Automatic Power Factor Correction)?
An Automatic Power Factor Correction (APFC) Panel is a specialized electrical power quality panel designed to automatically measure, analyze, and maintain plant power factor at near unity (0.99 Lag). It continuously monitors reactive power demand (kVAR) caused by inductive motor loads, transformers, and HVAC compressors, dynamically switching capacitor bank steps in real time.
Equipped with intelligent microprocessor-based APFC controller relays, detuned harmonic filter reactors, heavy-duty self-healing MPP capacitors, and fast contactors or thyristor switches, Panel Electro APFC Panels prevent utility maximum demand penalties and optimize active energy consumption.
